About Knovum

Knovum is a local-first AI knowledge workspace for macOS and Windows, built with Tauri 2, Rust and Vue 3. Everything a piece of work depends on — notes, saved web pages and videos, meeting recordings, PDFs and Office documents, images, code — goes on an infinite canvas called a Space. Ask questions and get answers whose citations point at the exact passage, timestamp or page; turn a selection into a document, image, video or voice track with a recorded trail back to its inputs.

The project is in early access (v0.2.1, November 2026): Linux and Windows-on-ARM are out of release scope. Knovum is free for personal, non-commercial use under its own Personal Noncommercial License 1.0 — source-available, but not open source in the OSI sense, and commercial use is not covered. Signed installers (macOS .dmg for Apple silicon and Intel, Windows x64 setup) are on GitHub Releases.
