About Badgey

Badgey is a small iPhone and iPad app that turns the device into a digital conference name badge. It is built by indie developer Marco Luthi around a simple observation: printed badges twist on their lanyards and end up facing the wrong way all day. Badgey makes the badge digital and self-aware, detecting how the phone is worn and adapting what it shows so the wearer's name always faces the people they meet.

Clipped upside down to a lanyard, the phone flips the badge right side up for whoever stands in front of it, with an optional swing that mimics a real badge as you walk. Slid top-first into a chest pocket, it shrinks the badge to a bright strip so the name stays visible above the pocket's edge; the detection briefly uses the front camera, with all frames analyzed on the device and never stored. Five designs cover different occasions, name, role and link edit directly on the card, several badges can be kept and swiped between, and a QR code mode lets new contacts scan a link instead of spelling a name.

The app is free with one badge and two designs included; Badgey Pro is a one-time purchase, shareable with Family Sharing, that unlocks everything else. There is no account, no advertising and no subscription. Badgey requires iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later.
